Hey guys, I noticed that there aren't any installers for Mac or Linux just yet. I understand that 0.4.0 SDK is still in beta, but has there been any news on when to expect support for the other operating systems? I just got my DK2, and most of my intended development will be either for Mac or Linux.

Would also love some info on when to expect SDK 0.4.0 for Mac & Linux. Just a hint would do.

yeah a hint would be great.
Can't understand why always windows is first?
Unity and all "clickMyGame"-Engines work well under Linux and/or Mac.
Besides programming for windows is a pain, just like windows itself is.
    Just my oppinion :)
So looking forward to the Linux 0.4 SDK!!
If not, maybe OpenHMD will do the trick.
Getting the motion from the camera should work with OpenCV.

    Thanks.
  • Yes, please release the Oculus SDK v0.4.X Beta for Linux soon! Thanks!

Please, Oculus, when can we expect this ? ^^
Even just a hint would be great, like others have mentioned!

Just got DK2, would very much like to get a chance to look at it working under Linux. (Using Ubuntu Studio here)
  • I also bought a DK2 and expected it to work under Linux, since the page about the DK2 on the homepage suggests that it does. The SDK documentation says "Linux coming soon", but that's now two months old, and there is not even any information on when we will get Linux support. :(

Any update possible here? Got my DK2 but no SDK available yet?

  • It's pretty clear that the Linux SDK has been dropped, or at the very least has close to zero priority. Now that Oculus has new Money Masters, we are SOL. I bought the DK2 based on the promise of equal Linux support. I don't want promises any more. Words are cheap.
  • I understand that linux don't have as many desktop users as windows or mac, but I don't think that we should be treated as second class citizens. Linux user base is growing and it will have it's own market and I want to develop for it. I bought dk2 thinkin I could start developping for linux right away but there isn't support for it.
I had to install windows on my machine just to test my oculus rift works as it should when it come today...

I demand information for when SDK 0.4.xx or whatever comes for linux!
