I'm set to receive dk2 on Tuesday (9/02) and I have Ubuntu loaded on the computer that is allocated for my Oculus Rift. Will we be seeing SDK0.4 Linux support anytime soon? It would be great to see something.... even if it's buggy.
Seriously, not one reply! This is a development kit!!! Isn't that what linux is all about. Why is there mac support before linux? I understand windows support first, because it's stable and open from a programming standpoint. But mac support before Linux.... why. Could there be a less friendly system for development. Every dang thing for a mac is proprietary, they can't even use a USB micro for a charger. Sorry if this angers some people, but mac is not about development.
Developer here... on a Mac.. I'm not really going to say anything aside from "nyeh!"
Mta, that was a very respectable reply. I figured it might cause someone to fly off the handle. I wasn't actually serious about the mac thing, but I knew it would insight some sort of reply. I only have mac experience with A/V (protools and such), but I know they are powerful machines. Anyways.... I haven't spent a whole lot of time on forums, and I guess I was looking in the wrong place. Thanks for the link, I don't blame you for the idiot comment.... I kind of earned that. Now let me see if I can manage to figure out how to follow that link... it seems a little complicated

Maybe I am an idiot... lol. My reply should have been to Vylen.... sorry.
I guess the 'idiot' was for me. I deserved it as much however. Having seen this thread I somehow forgot searching for other threads on the same topic. ^^
seems like all mac developers need to say they are developers
Missing Linux support too!
But recently OpenHMD is supported DK2 internalSensor...it turns out it's the same as the old one accept USB Id or something.
Well ...at least it works very good on Linux!
regards to the forum and oculus.
Oculus kicks ....

I'm curious about the Linux version, too. I temporarily switched to windows 7 on the system I'll be using with the rift though.
