CV1 Screen Turn Off And Off While In Game Also See Red Laser Lines On Screen

I don't have the system requirements I have a 960 and not a 970. I just started noticing this today when I play games the screen goes black comes on and goes black again. I have also seen a static screen with static snow like you would see on a TV. Another strange thing I saw what looked like a red laser line going through my screen while my screen was turning on and off during the game. What bothers me allot is seeing what appears to be a bright red laser looking like going across the screen while the screen flickered on and off. Is this something people have experienced? Is there a red laser inside the headset? Why and I seeing a bright red laser looking lines in my screen?

When I enter lightwight clients like Altspace and Vrchat I don't notice this, only in games

Lot of people are having issues with new rifts, oculus should test better their product before sending to someone that have waited for months....this is just crazy....

EliteSPA what do you mean? The OP specifically said he didn't meet the system requirements. That's not a matter of having a defective unit. That's just not having the right equipment! There's a reason Oculus told everyone what specs they needed to meet to run the thing. If someone buys one anyway, then that's their mistake, not Oculus'!

How would a computer that doesn't meet system requirements make bright red laser type lines on my screen? I had a dk2 for over a year and if my computer was too slow I just had a loss in frame rate or the game would freeze. I'm not experiencing any of that. The g ah especially play perfect up to the point a bright laser lights go across my screen

Sounds like your card is over heating, or you have a defective HMD.

The gfx card is below spec, but I don't think that would cause laser lines? @Marketorder: the screen switching off could be a bad connection; I assume you've checked the gfx card end of the HDMI...what about where it plugs into the headset? Remove the face place (foam part which touches your face comes off) and remove/reinsert the cable.
About the red lines: when the screen DOES turn on, does it look anything like these images?

If so, it could be a faulty display, and you may have to send it back. Create a ticket by visiting this link:

Hope that helps. []-)

This isnt a low card but it is lower than the MINIMUM spec. Y do people insist on trying to run CV1 below spec then complain that they have problems when it doesnt work??

I've sent them messages they don't respond typically. I got 1 response from them once and all of my other emails have been ignored

Ok , well don't give up. They are likely dealing with an unimaginable mountain of tickets, most of which probably say: "Where's my Rift?" or "I can't install the software". Keep sending emails with the full details, including the serial number of your Rift (and the ticket number, of course), there's evidence that they do eventually respond favourably.
What about the other questions I asked about the cable and if your symptoms are like those images?

Do you think theirs a laser inside of the headset? What could be causing that red laser light inside the headset going across the screen?
