Get a room ! Back to alien, does anyone know more about this guy and if he is on the up and up? I think he is hinting he is also involved in hl2 as well
Fiat Coupe, gone. 350Z gone. Dirty nappies, no sleep & practical transport incoming. Thank goodness for VR
Played the whole thing on the DK2 back then. Can't wait for a second playthrough with the CV1. Also good news that he has apparently managed to fix the pitch issue, which was a motion sickness inducing deal breaker for many people
@bigmike20vt Yeah, the guy is active in the HL2VR team discusstons. there he also gave a few updates about the Alien mod in the last few weeks.

Honestly not sure why. HL2 made me want to puke in 5 min, yet the entire game of AI had no ill effect on me. I'm guessing it's because it's so slow paced.
on reddit the dev seems genuine but i think he has only been working on it a short time, out of frustration someone has to break this eventually though, it must be one of vr most asked for games
Look, man. I only need to know one thing: where they are.
@Nibre If I were a woman I would let you have my children but I am sure that @vannagirl - my soon to be future wife - wouldn't mind doing the same in my place!
Alien Isolation in VR is going to be seven kinds of INSANE

Just booted up Doom 3 VR since its had loads of updates since I last played (moved house recently). It's just amazing how much better older tripple A games fit into VR. Though there is some great current VR stuff I just adore the older stuff lol Alien Isolation is just going to be emense!! Very much looking forward to this. I know it won't support full motion controls for hands etc but if that ever was able to be implemented....wet my self out of excitement, probably just before Mr alien rams it's tongue through my head then I would be messy both ends!!
Sorry for the lack of updates. I didn't want to make a Reddit post without having something more concrete. I'll see if I can start Tweeting out my progress more.
So as of right this second, it isn't ready for a release. I'm going to keep working on it throughout the weekend, but if I don't get it to a point that I'm happy with, I'm going to hold off longer on releasing it.
And I'm a little conflicted with how I should stage the releases of this mod, and how to temper everyones expectations with that. Do I release something sub-standard, where literally thousands of people will haphazardly try to fill the holes that is has (modding it with Revive, ghetto Touch support etc) wasting tons of everyones time, or do I hold off on releasing for a while until it has all the bells and whistles, so that everyone is happy from the get go. After all, whats a week or two compared to the 3 years it's been out?
But anyway, I'll keep working on it this weekend and see what I can get done. Maybe I'll post some of this on Reddit, see what feedback I get on what people would like to see and are expecting, and let them know what I've been thinking.
Thanks for all the support, and I hope you all enjoy it when it gets released!
Well, the original gameplay hasn't been written for hand controllers. It has been written for keyboard/mouse or game controllers. I played through the game with the DK2 using an X-Box controller. That worked great. So I don't see much benefit in trying to add Touch in any half-baked way. Doing that properly would require a lot of changes to the gameplay itself I assume.
But it would be great if we could use the touch controllers like an X-Box controller split in halves, using the analog sticks, triggers and the buttons but without making use of the positional tracking.
@Nibre Release when you are happy with it bud, its your hard work and everyone is thankful for it.
The only ask i have really is that if you add settings, do so with a gui instead of having to use console commands. Thats the only part of the doom 3 vr releases that pisses me off and you are at a point where it can easily be implemented if needed withput the need for more rework later.
As for vive and revive support, screw those guys! Focus in the rift and let them show horn it later. Infact if you could add drm to stop vivarians using it i would be even happier, but purely because i wang to wind up atmos about it.
