You're crazy if you think this announcement won't help their sales

Too many people around here have attachment issues.

Hi cybereality,
When can we have more info on this?

I'd like to know how many people canceled their pre-ordres since the Facebook announcement.

Good to hear, but there's a perverse incentive for me to want people like this to cancel their DK2 orders so I get mine faster. >_>

Temptation aside, I would at least not brag about it (wasn't the intention I'm sure). I kept my order because it still is the sane thing to do. I'm not super happy though with recent events. To be clear, a sold DK2 is not automaticaly an aproval, while a cancellation sure is a statement. So you might not want to argue into this direction, coz it might make some people feel very unconfortable.

I was tempted to cancel my pre order. Not because I'm worried about Oculus going over to the dark side, just because I made the assumption that this news would mean faster CV1. But since there's no proof of that I'll keep my place in line. I love Oculus, I believe in their vision for VR as a world changer,.......what else? Something, something Dark Side.

Yeah, I've got to admit that I was secretly hoping that the shortsighted knee-jerk overreaction people would help bump me up the DK2 queue a bit :P

I won't lie. We have had a number of people cancel their DK2 pre-orders. They are totally free to do that, if they want. We aren't going to stop them. However, after the initial "knee-jerk-reaction surge" a lot of people have came back and told us NOT to cancel their order since they don't want to lose their place in line. Funny how that happens.

I would assume that all the attention Oculus has received in nearly every major news feed, there are a lot more people who have just been introduced to the tech and I suspect sales to the newcomers will far make up for the few lost souls that jumped ship. Fortunately, those new orders will be behind me in line :)
